My friend Carla modeled for me in her traditional Phillipine dress that she made herself.  The pearls, hair up, and even having a portrait made are part of her tradition.  I did several sessions of sketches, then a photo shoot, and a small color study.  The dress hung in my studio stuffed with pillows for two years as I did the final painting.
