This still life painting from life was almost finished during a four day demonstration at the Southeast Alaska State Fair in Haines, July 27-30, 2017. I painted about 6 hours each day. Bev Schupp joined me to paint and we laughed each time someone asked if we were having a competition. The canned goods were harvested and put up by myself and my husband. We did not enter them in the fair as we were too busy to enter anything beyond art. The blue ribbon was a prop. The UMF men at the corn booth laughed when I asked for a pretty one. The fair and corn are synonymous to me since I eat one every day during the fair.
